The students in room 308 had a busy week! We finished our unit 1 in our Everyday Math program. The kids had a lot of fun learning about perpendicular lines, angles, convex and concave polygons, as well as concentric circles. We ended our unit learning to use a compass to draw geometric designs.
Our Writer's Workshop was spent listing many narrative writing ideas and making choices to take through the writing process. We also started a friendly competition based on our read a loud, No Talking by Andrew Clements. Be sure and ask your child about this activity.
We had an opportunity to practice our observational skills by watching and drawing what we saw in our school garden. The kids ended the week with The Reading MAP testing using their great thinking skills. Great job everyone!
